Evaluation

The LTTT has extensive expertise in the field of thermo-economics. For the comprehensive evaluation of energy systems or selected technologies for energy conversion, cost models on plant and component level are available. These can be combined with thermodynamic or exergetic analysis. An important goal of such thermo-economic studies is to identify cost-efficient plant designs or concepts. Among others, LTTT has already carried out thermo-economic studies with the following application areas:

  • ORC power plants in geothermal energy and for waste heat recovery,
  • Low-temperature heating networks,
  • Thermal energy systems for buildings.
