We are pleased to announce that Lukas Schröder has successfully passed his PhD examination at the LTTT. In his doctoral thesis, Lukas Schröder dealt with the laser ignition of lean methane mixtures in stationary gas engines.

His research focused on analyzing the injection, mixture formation, ignition and combustion of methane using (laser) optical and analytical methods. By examining the holistic internal combustion process chain on a rapid compression engine and testing prototypes on 4-cylinder series engines, he was able to gain valuable insights that are of great importance for both science and industry.

The board of examiners, consisting of Prof. Brüggemann (first examiner), Prof. Zigan (second examiner, University of the Federal Armed Forces Munich), Prof. Moos (additional examiner) and Prof. Schmidt (exam chair), acknowledged Mr. Schröder's outstanding achievements.
